Welcome to Sanctuary 2.0!

Close both eyes to see with the other eye.” – Rumi

Dear Sanctuary friends,
During our amazing service last Sunday, we created a group sculpture of the Unified Field (photo below). We are all connected, and this was our way of making the Invisible visible.  Although we continue on as friends, that service was our final Sunday as regulars at West Park Presbyterian Church.  It was also the last gathering as the community we have known ourselves to be.  Together, we spent two years being a place for people, including me, to discover what it is that we are creating. At our second anniversary, we realized this is the perfect moment for us to officially stop our initial purpose, and acknowledge that we have become a new type of community.
We are less a church than a creative community of art and consciousness.
We are less a formula than an expression.
We are artists by intention, whatever our profession.
As the leader of this new community, I have come to believe that ministers are not going to save the world, artists are.  Our parent company is Sanctuary 2.0  Our Sundayexperience will be called TRIBE: Transformation/Realization/Inspiration/Belonging/Expression

We will not be meeting this coming Sunday while we reboot.
You can still find us at Sanctuarynyc.org, and our Auto-tithe and P.O. Box are still the same.  Your tax deductible checks may be made out to West Park.
On Sunday November 10th at 11 am, we will meet for a whole new expression of Art and Spirit in Community, at the Raw Space Gallery on Adam Clayton Powell Blvd and 121st St. in Harlem.  We will be gathering every Sunday in November, and we will be using this time as focus groups, to see what works, how it works, and how to move forward. We will have a weekly message from me, a meditation and music, but in a whole other form.  Week one is all about the art of the theatre.
So grateful for each of you.  “There IS a community of the spirit.”
Stay connected.
See you in Harlem!
