Dear T.R.I.B.E.You have no idea how much it means to us that you are out there.I am taking to YOU…if you opened this newsletter, and are reading it.Why? Well you see, the fact that you are out there means that there is some group of people who are listening to the emergence – with us- at the deepest level of a collective call to heal and transform the planet through the wonder of CREATIVITY and the ARTS and Spirit, and SACRED SERVICE and community..We love hearing from you. We love knowing you are out there. The idea of T.R.I.B.E. is to create a place- A MOVABLE FEAST IF YOU WILL- where we can connect through depth teachings and the ARTS to our Oneness and to a purpose that is beneficial to the world around us.These last three months have shown us that T.R.I.B.E. is real, it is of value and that it will continue.Think about it this way: We have done the showcase version of T.R.I.B.E., and it was a wild success. Now we need to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to sustain a “run”.Honestly, we need to raise funds, I need a rest, and our creative team needs to gather on one coast or another (or both- Skype!!) , to plot out our next phases. You may want to check into our website at Tribealive.org, or our Facebook page TRIBE, to catch the thread of our development..We will also be convening in Southern CA, and we will let you know about that and about our next nyc gathering. The idea is to get a good video presence going so you will be able to be part of the process as it develops.I am gonna take a class in computer graphic and web design.i want to be able to play with color and video and communication…MYSELF!!You may continue to support us by clicking the DONATE button on the newsletter and website. Pretty soon I will be uploading content in the form of video messages and other cool inspirational things.I will be keeping you posted in the newsletter, so that you know what we are planning, but PLEASE give us a shout out and let us know what YOU are doing too, ok?Tell us about your spiritual path, your artistic pursuits, your dreams, your disappointments, your triumphs and your plans. And when we meet again…which won’t be too long from now, we will be really excited to see how all of that is developing. You are appreciated..You are loved. You are a gift to the world...Peace/out,Jane (and the creative team of T.R.I.B.E.)
What an adventure it has been! In a little over three months, we have created a miracle together at Raw Space Gallery. Our work has been deep and fun and focused and celebratory, inspiring, educational, transcendent and immanent and well simply, amazing. We are living a model of something that frankly, others are talking about thinking about. It is thrilling to have shared this time of creation with you.
My desire has always been to share with people, who are not actors, the immersive experience of oneness that working on a play or film creates for the cast members. I believe that the liminal zone in which we create, and from which we retrieve the archetypes and understandings of the characters we have been entrusted to play is “the place where you and I are one.” That is the simple wish that has undergirded all of this schooling and community building and organizational wrangling in which I have engaged for years now. Simply: I want to create a LIVED experience of the oneness that is the reality of our existence, so that people who may never darken the doorway of a church will be able to access God, community and life more abundant, AND that they may take what they receive from that experience into the world to make it a better place.
T.R.I.B.E. embodies that dream, and so much more! It works, we know it, and now it needs infrastructure, classes, a bibliography. To develop these takes time and the ability to hang out in the invisible for awhile. And I really, really, REALLY need a break.
This coming Sunday at 11 a.m. at Raw Space Gallery in Harlem, we will be spending a couple of hours together as always. We encourage you to bring some food and thoughts to share. Be prepared to set an intention for these next weeks and months while we allow the idea to find legs. Our goal is to meet once a month in NYC, eventually once a month in Southern California as well, and to share our wonderful idea with many people beyond the two coasts.
I will be moving back to Southern CA, and ideally travelling eastward once a month when we begin the new schedule. We will continue to send the newsletter, perhaps a bit less frequently, but regularly. We are honestly humbled by the interest in and support for this new idea from many, in so many different places! We especially want to thank our friends at Raw Space, for opening a door into the rich Harlem community for us. We thank Rev. Bob Brashear and the folks at West Park for similar hospitality for an earlier incarnation.
And we thank YOU. Without you, we would not “be”.
Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday, the last Sunday in the first month of 2014, to share some rich fellowship, to be inspired and to call forth the future. Raw Space Gallery is on Adam Clayton Powell Blvd between 121st and 122nd St in Harlem, U.S.A.
See you there Sunday.

Happy happy New Year
New York City: Dedicated to Mayor Bill De Blasio
by Ramya Ramana
A constellated skyscraper, moving gracefully to jazz beat,
Finding the Gil Scott Heron in her footwork.
Gripping the street lights like an eclipse of hymnals.
This, is home.
The lost voices, the heart’s devotion to beat and pulse, slow dancing kernels.
Home to hustle. Home to work hard, dream harder.
Home to move in silence- let success shatter the glass of hostage echoes.
New York City- not lights, not Broadway, not time square,
It is single mother donating her last meals worth of money to church-
It is the faith in the heart that makes a dead dream worth resurrecting.
It is coffee colored children playing hopscotch on what is left of a sidewalk.
It is chalk outlined, colonized map on a street as dark as the bones of the dead.
This, we call holy. This we call tough skin. Thick boned.
This is New York.
We will no longer stay silent to this classism.
No more brownstones and brown skin playing tug of war with the pregnant air
Hovering over them like an aura of lost children.
No more colored boy robbed off their innocence.
This city- always will be the foundation of this country.
We are root. We are backbone. We brown, we black, we yellow, we white, we young;
We collage of creatures stomping to be reminded of the mammal in us.
We, chance. We deserve. Us opportunity.
Us New Mayor. Us New beginning like dancing cocoons.
Us hope. Us fight. Us happen. Us love us some good human.
Us happy. We happy. We happy with change- it is a constant baptism to remind us of our holy.
We welcome. We family.
We, congratulate Mayor Bill De Blasio.
We are so very honored and pleased to have you.
And the congregation says, “Amen!”

Dear TRIBE Friends,
We will be postponing our first gathering of 2014 to NEXT SUNDAY at Raw Space Gallery at 11 am.
PLEASE TELL ANYONE YOU THINK MIGHT NOT GET THIS NEWSLETTER. We want you all to be safe and to build snow people in your own neighborhood, on your roof, in the alley but NOT to try to get to us in Harlem in the slipping and sliding.
Enjoy NEW YORK IN THE SNOW!!!
Nothing like it:)
Assignment for next week:
Please bring with you a poem, a painting, a piece of music, a photograph or a favorite text, something that you think symbolizes YOUR UNIQUE EXPRESSION. Also, look up the transcript for Bill Deblasio’s swearing In ceremony and find the really wonderful poem written and read by a young woman on that freezing morning of new promise.
Read it, send it to your friends, write your own poem about your new 2014 commitment to yourself and our world.
Come prepared – next Sunday- the 12th of January 2014at RSGallery at 11 am- to be a part of calling forth a new expression for 2014.
See you in a few,
